Description

This is one of the most cult bands from ex-Yugoslavia. Formed out of the band called ‘Limunovo Drvo’ in winter 1979 in Belgrade. Members were Milan Mladenovi? (guitar, vocals), Ivica Vdovi? – Vd (drums) and Dušan Koji? – Koja (bass, vocals). Short-lived, but radical, Šarlo was one of the most innovative and powerful bands ever to come out of former Yugoslavia. They’ve participated on 1981 compilation ‘Paket-Aranžman’ together with other two Belgrade new wave bands Idoli and Elektri?ni Orgazam, played Zagreb Bijenale International festival and later in in the same year released critically acclaimed LP ‘Bistriji Ili Tuplji ?ovek Biva Kad…’ one of the milestones of Yugoslavian rock music. After the autumn tour in Poland, the band split in two fractions: Milan and Vd formed Katarina II and Koja formed Disciplina Kicme.
This is their one and only album from 1981. Hard to pigeonhole, the album carries influences of Punk, Ska and New Wave music, while at the same time being incredibly innovative and original. Bought back in the 80s. Comes with the original insert. VG+/VG(+)
