Description

Kommissarie Roy was one of the bands from the studio Svenska Popfabriken in the town Klippan, a center in Swedish 70s/80s punk/new wave. Kommissarie Roy was most known to have recorded the song “Caroline”, a celebration of the then much popular Monaco princess. The lyrics was about reading their mothers’ weekly magazines to get pictures of princess Caroline and to be ready to crawl down to Monaco to be able to meet her. After the release of the album Kommissarie Roy, Thomas Holst tired of doing the lead vocals and the band hired Kristian Ask (earlier leadsinger of Noise) as lead singer for half a year. In 1983, Holst (the main songwriter) left the band to join Wilmer X and Kommissarie Roy was disbanded. Hans Dahlén joined Torsson, Kiddie Manzini went on to The Sinners and Michael Nemeti started the band Johnny & Dom Andra. This is their only LP from 1981. Hard to find. VG+/VG+
