Description

First a side-project of the legendary Reutlingen based hardcore punk band “Genossen”, in 1986 Sumpfpäpste became a real band. After the first demotape, which sold quite a few, the band improved its sound and got faster and harder. In 1988 Sumpfpäpste released their second demo produced in the fully professional “Marquee Studio”. The tape got very good reviews in “Maximum Rock’n Roll”, “Flipside” and the Dutch “Metal Hammer”. Gigs followed all over Germany, Belgium and Hungary and Sumpfpäpste were offered a record deal by “We Bite Rec.” and the “Marquee Studio” as producer. In 1990 “See what it is” was released and became a classic of German punkrock. The band is still active today. VG+/VG++
