Description
Luzibär was founded in the summer of 1981 by former members of the Düsseldorf punk band VD. After first appearances, the EP “Geistig 7” was released, which immediately caused a sensation in the scene at that time. Because it was banned promptly! And not because of any political slogans, but because, following their song “Wixverbot”, Luzibär “insulted” a Mettmann town idiot who thought he was a mod. He complained, won and the record was banned. For this reason the record is very rare today. But Luzibär did not give up, they toured diligently (including with the Toten Hosen that just formed at the time). In the middle of 1982 they got the offer from Rough Trade Germany to make a new record. It was supposed to be an album for which the Hamlet quote “And the rest was silence” was intended as the title. Unfortunately the album never came out. Another 4 track EP called “Wax Figures” was recorded, but it didn’t see the light of day for the time being. Internal tortures followed, there were still many gigs, but in the summer of 1983, just 2 years after the founding, Luzibär broke up. This is the forementioned 7″. VG/EX
