Description

Originally released in 1983 as a cassette for Zalozba FV, this release sees two bands from Rijeka from early 80s. Mrtvi Kanal was an excellent punk band from the second wave of punk, formed in 1979 and disbanded around the time of this release. If you like other Rijeka punk bands from this period (Paraf, Termiti, Kaos,…) you´ll definitely like Mrtvi Kanal. Their use of keyboards was in a way specific for this neck of woods and gave them and other bands from this time, quite a unique touch.

Grc is a different story. Formed from some punk veterans of the very first punk wave in Rijeka, Grc paved their own way in this scene. Initially sounding just like a more experimental punk band, Grc over time became something else. A doomy and gloomy heaviness that is too simplistic to call punk or else. They flirted with horror and carved a niche for their music in the ex Yugo underground scene. If you listened to their second release from 1987 you could witness the transformation of this band. These are their first recordings and even though you can hear excellent musicianship, they were nowhere near their future works.

Comes with a great booklet full of old band photos and else.
