Formed in 2003 from the ashes of INVASION, RIGHTEOUS JAMS came together when vocalist Joey Contrada (ex INVASION/STOP and THINK) met Elgin James (former WRECKING CREW/454 BIG BLOCK vocalist). The two became quick friends and soon were playing alongside fellow Invasion/Mental members Justin DeTore and Derek Scace. RJ’s blend of old school hardcore influences such as SSD, BAD BRAINS, BLACK FLAG and CRO-MAGS and positive, self-affirming lyrics instantly turned them into a crowd favorite and a staple of the American hardcore scene.
