Cease Upon the Capitol – their lyrics have politically or socially aware undertones. The first thing that strikes me on these recordings, is that I really dig the screamed, raspy vocals of the singer. Musically the band delivers a really good brand of screamo. A bit like One Eyed God Prophecy with more clean, little riffs in there for good measure. Tehn we have 4 intense songs from the Italian band Silbato on here and they are the best Silbato songs/recordings I’ve heard so far. This band plays a very intense and energetic form of hardcore, a bit akin to the old With Love or the old Jr. Ewing if I have to compare them. At times straight forward, fast rocking out in what is almost screamo. In “miracles in the harbour” Silbato show us a pretty heavy part of their character, while “collateral in the end” has some intricate and technical hooks. Silbato is an overlooked band and I hope it won’t stay that way. Very cool stuff on this 3″ CD!
