Description
The HUMPERS were an American garage punk band, formed in 1989 by Scott “Deluxe” Drake and Jeff Fieldhouse, guitarrists for the Suicide Kings. The HUMPERS punked the mix up a bit with a more direct and sonic edge reminiscent of Cleveland groups the Dead Boys and the Pagans.
“Positively Sick on 4th St.” gloriously hearkens back to the classic days of the late- ’70s New York CBGB’s punk scene of Ramones, Heartbreakers, Dead Boys fame. Unlike California pop-punk predecessors, the Descendents, and contemporaries Green Day, and the Muffs, The HUMPERS give us a powerful dose of back alley grime surrounded by tight Chuck Berry guitar riffs and jerking rhythmic progressions.
This, their second album, adds three bonus tracks to the original: “Zombie”, “Insect Liberation”, and ” Death Threat Machine”.
