Description

High Circle was an Italian group whose alternative and punk style music reigned supreme from 1984 through 1990, yet they continued to have an occasional release right through 2005. These Roman boys first caught the interest of PIG subsidiary Subcore Records with a great self-titled 6 song EP on Contiago Records. Subcore followed that up with a full-length record by High Circle called ‘Out of Darkness,’ marking the first time a PIG entity had released the sounds of Italy. Since then, PIG has released other Italian acts such as Raw Power, Deep Throat, Anno Senza Estate, and recently signed Italy’s star-studded Lockdown Junkies. The ‘Out of Darkness’ album was well-received, getting critical praise in what was punk’s Bible at the time – Maximum Rock ‘N’ Roll. Sadly, High Circle was yet another turn of the decade (from the eighties to the nineties) casualty caused by the Great Depression of vinyl records. Vinyl went from on top of the world to the end of the world and was phased out for decades. It destroyed thousands of bands and labels as the costs back then to print CDs were astronomical as compared to the former costs of vinyl or the modern-day costs of compact discs Please enjoy a taste of old-fashioned Italian punk.
