Description
Interesting information about one of the members of this band:
Born in Sheffield, Paul Bower became popular by running a punk fanzine called “Gunrubber” together with Adi Newton (later guru of Clock DVA). In 1977 he founded 2.3 the first punk band in Sheffield, and also the first Sheffield group to sign a contract. He played an important role in the history of The Human League by introducing them to Fast Records, and arranging their first gig.
This is the only vinyl output of 2.3 from back in the day. This 7″ came out in 1978 on Fast Records (Mekons, Dead Kennedys, Gang Of Four, Human League, Scars,…) and is actiually FAST2. From this perspective sounds somewhere between punk and new wave and was possibly a predecessor of later new wave bands. VG(+)/VG(+)
